About the Yarn
One day, while knitting a test pattern for a friend, I went searching for some hand-dyed fine wool sparkle yarn. I went to my local yarn store and all the usual online yarn stores and I didn't find much. I had been dying my own wool yarn for a while so I dyed the color I wanted, started knitting and then it occurred to me ... others might enjoy a unique, artisan, wool sparkle yarn too! And PattyCakes was on it's way.
Each cake is dyed twice. The first dye bath provides the tonal main color and the second is the outer, contrasting and often darker color resulting in a skein that is not quite a gradient but a textured, nuanced colorway that ends in a lovely contrasting finish. A perfect skein for a scarf or shawl.

PattyCakes Sparkle Yarn is dyed with non-toxic dyes, heat set twice, washed twice and air dried before it's wound into a ready to use cake for you.
